Squads on Pro
BUILT FOR THE PEOPLE YOU ALREADY HAVE

Real groups, not strangers.

Offbit isn't a public network. You add the people you already know — and the squad does the rest.

STUDENTS

Cram together, not alone

Lock down Instagram and TikTok during finals week. See who actually stayed offline.

HOUSEMATES

The flat-wide deal

One challenge per week. Loser does the dishes. Nobody argues with the leaderboard.

COUPLES

Less screen, more eye contact

Match your evening cap. Catch the dip before bed and claim the morning back.

HOW IT WORKS

Three taps. Then the squad does the rest.

Solo blockers expect willpower. Offbit replaces it with accountability: your friends see your rankings, and you see theirs.

01 / SQUAD UP

Invite your people

Create a private group and share a six-character invite code. Flatmates, classmates, coworkers, group chats — anyone with a phone.

02 / SET LIMITS

Pick the apps

Agree a shared daily limit on the apps that take the most time. Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, X — whatever the squad picks.

03 / COMPETE

Watch the board

Daily and weekly rankings, drop-out alerts when someone breaks the cap, crowns at the end of each challenge. Then play again.

WHY THE SQUAD WORKS

Accountability beats willpower.

Goal research is unambiguous: writing the goal down, sharing it with a friend, and sending weekly progress updates produces dramatically higher follow-through than going it alone. Matthews (2007) tested exactly that combination — Offbit just automates it.

Your private squad sees the leaderboard. They see when you breach the cap. They don't lecture — they just notice, and that turns out to be enough.

WHEN THE CAP HITS

Limits that actually stop you.

Cross the line and Offbit takes over the screen. A 10-second countdown forces the second thought, and the rest of the squad gets a quiet ping that you're about to drop out.

It's not a notification. It's not a polite nudge. It's the friction the apps don't want you to have.

The mechanism — adding intentional friction before an app launches — has been studied in peer-reviewed work going back to a PNAS paper showing a 57% drop in daily app opens. We've collected the strongest papers on one page.

IN THE APP

Built for accountability, not guilt.

PRIVATE SQUADS

Invite-code only. No public profiles, no follower counts. Just the people you want to see your standings.

LIVE LEADERBOARDS

Daily and weekly rankings update through the day. See who's stalling and who's holding the line.

APP LIMITS THAT BITE

Cap the apps you regret. Hit the limit and Offbit blocks the app with a 10-second friction screen.

WEEKLY CHALLENGES

"No Reels Week", "Inbox Only", whatever you cook up. Crown the winner, dust off the loser, run it back.

DROP-OUT ALERTS

A push to the rest of the squad the moment someone breaks the cap. Quiet accountability — no shaming.

LIFETIME SAVED

Every hour under your baseline rolls up into a real number. Not a vibe — a milestone you can point at.

FAQ

Questions before you join.

Is Offbit available now?
Not yet. We're in internal testing while we polish the launch experience. Drop your email to be first in when Offbit ships.
What data does Offbit collect?
Your screen-time and per-app usage totals, an email, a display name, and your squad memberships. We don't read messages, take screenshots, or sell anything to advertisers. The full picture is on the privacy page.
Do my friends see my screen-time data?
Only the people in groups you join. They see your display name and your time on the apps the squad has agreed to track. They never see what you do inside any of those apps.
Will the limits actually stop me?
Offbit deep-links into a paper-on-ink block screen with a 10-second countdown the moment you hit the daily cap on a tracked app. You can still "Proceed" after the countdown — that's a deliberate UX choice. The accountability is your squad seeing you breach the cap.
